In America, no one is above the law. But Donald Trump has made it clear that he is willing to shred the Constitution and weaponize our government to terrorize the American people.

When Trump unleashed ICE in California, I led the way in the State Senate to force ICE agents to take off their masks, allow Californians to take ICE agents to court, and ban ICE agents from schools, churches, and hospitals. 

I won’t back down from that fight. I never have and I never will.

In Congress, I’ll hold Trump and ICE accountable for their abuses of power, corruption, and attacks on our democracy.

I’ll fight to enact laws that mandate the use of body-worn cameras for federal agents, ensure ICE agents are liable in court for violating the constitutional rights of residents, enact a use-of-force policy with teeth throughout the federal law enforcement branches, and ensure judicial warrants are used when conducting search and seizure of homes and businesses. No exceptions.

Our district doesn’t need another politician willing to look the other way. We need someone who will fight back.
