Donald Trump has made one thing crystal clear: he is willing to shred the Constitution and weaponize our government to terrorize the American people.

I won’t back down from that fight. I never have and I never will.

When Trump unleashed ICE in California, I led the way in the State Senate to force ICE agents to take off their masks, allow Californians to take ICE agents to court, and ban ICE agents from schools, churches and hospitals. 

In Congress, I’ll hold Trump accountable for abuses of power, corruption, and attacks on our democracy. We need to abolish ICE and hold Agents accountable when they terrorize families and trample civil rights.

We need leaders who will say plainly that no one is above the law and anyone who violates this scared oath will be held to account. I’ll fight to enact laws that mandates the use of body warn cameras for federal agents, ensure ICE agents are liable in court for violating the constitutional rights of residents, enact a use of force policy with teeth throughout the federal law enforcement branches and ensure judicial warrants are used when conducting search and seizure of homes and businesses. No exceptions.

Our district doesn’t need another politician willing to look the other way. We need someone who will fight back.
