About California’s 1st Congressional District (CA-01)

California’s 1st Congressional District is one of the largest, most diverse, and most rural districts in the state — stretching from the North Coast to the Sierra, and from working farmland to forested mountain communities.

After the passage of Proposition 50, CA-01 now includes nine counties: Glenn, Tehama, Butte, Plumas, Sierra, Lassen, Lake, and parts of Mendocino and Sonoma Counties.

While these communities are geographically vast, they are united by common values, shared challenges, and a deep commitment to taking care of one another.

A District Defined by Rural California

CA-01 is rural California at its core.

Families here rely on agriculture, forestry, tourism, healthcare, education, and small businesses to keep local economies strong. Residents understand the importance of reliable infrastructure, clean water, affordable energy, wildfire protection, and access to quality healthcare — often in places where the nearest hospital, school, or grocery store is miles away.

This is a district where people pitch in, know their neighbors, and expect their leaders to show up, listen, and deliver.

A District Worth Fighting For

California’s 1st Congressional District is not a place on a map — it’s a collection of communities that power the state and embody its values.

It deserves leadership that understands rural life, shows up consistently, and fights every day to make sure Northern California is heard, respected, and delivered for.
